President Cyril Ramaphosa launched Phase 3 of the Government-Business Partnership for Growth and Jobs on 20 August 2026. The initiative aims to accelerate economic growth, increase investment, strengthen confidence, and create employment opportunities in South Africa.
Construction Alliance South Africa fully support the prioritisation of infrastructure as a key growth driver under Phase 3 of the Government-Business Partnership for Growth and Jobs. Investment in strategic infrastructure is essential to unlocking economic growth, enhancing competitiveness, attracting investment, and creating sustainable employment opportunities across South Africa.
Given the programme’s ambitious objectives of achieving sustained GDP growth above 3% and creating one million additional jobs by 2030, it is imperative that infrastructure projects move rapidly from planning to execution. Delays in implementation risk constraining economic activity, limiting private sector investment, and slowing job creation.
We therefore encourage all stakeholders to prioritise the speedy execution of the infrastructure pipeline, supported by streamlined approvals, effective coordination between government and business, and robust project governance. Accelerating the delivery of infrastructure projects will not only stimulate immediate economic activity but will also provide the foundation for long-term growth, improved service delivery, and enhanced investor confidence.
A well-executed infrastructure programme will serve as a catalyst for economic expansion, support the objectives of the Government-Business Partnership, and contribute meaningfully to inclusive growth and job creation across the country.
